“After raising a family and working, I now have the time to devote to a lifelong passion. As a self-taught artist, I used to regret my lack of formal training, but now it feels like an advantage to not be overly influenced or restrained by convention. I paint what I want, and my technique varies and evolves to enhance the subject and mood of each piece. Often, I will attempt a new process or subject matter, just to push myself in new areas.
Although the subjects I choose may seem diverse, and not fit neatly into any category, to me it is always the same subject…how light changes everything.”
Brenda lives with her husband in the rural town of Byron, in upstate New York. When she is not painting, she is an award-winning landscape designer.
